Colwill School

In August 2021 we were engaged by Mitre10 to work with them and their Helping Hands team to build fantastic new playgrounds for three lucky schools. This incredibly generous gift has enabled these schools to give their current and future students amazing play spaces that they will use for many years to come.

At Playground People, we are super passionate about providing great quality playgrounds for our New Zealand schools. In working with Mitre10, we have found a partner who is equally as passionate about giving back to their local communities.

With numerous other priorities facing their school's budget, providing their students with a new playground to replace the ailing existing one seemed like a far fetched dream for Colwill School. So, when they heard the news they had been selected as one of the recipients of the Mitre10 Helping Hands Playground Projects, it was little wonder they felt as though they had “won lotto”. With the kids being able to watch the project every step of the way through the safety fencing, come opening day the students were nearly at fever pitch as they set about putting the playground to the test!  As you can see from the video and photos, the playground has been everything the kids dreamed of.
