Eskdale School, in Hawkes Bay, suffered major damage during Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023. While classrooms were spared, the grounds were inundated with knee-high silt which displaced the students and staff for months.
When the school was re-opened they still faced a lack of challenging play areas for their students. So, the legends at Mitre 10 Helping Hands stepped in to rebuild and enhance the school's playground. They installed one of our six-metre tall Kiwi Spacenets, supported by Mitre 10 MEGA Napier with materials and safety fencing.
Principal Tristan Cheer says the school is incredibly grateful, the whole community had a blast on the opening day. The new Spacenet brought some much-needed fun and a sense of normality to the students and has become the school's favourite play area, offering a fun, engaging, and challenging experience for the kids.
