Hamilton Zoo
Already a very family-friendly attraction, the Hamilton Zoo has recently had a major upgrade of its facilities including the installation of a truly fantastic play area right next to the entrance and cafe. After a few hours wandering around Hamilton Zoo's spacious grounds and seeing all the animals, what better way to relax than by grabbing some lunch and letting the kids run wild on the playground!
This fantastic playground was designed by Georgina Hailwood, the use of the space is perfect for the large numbers of people who stop for a bite to eat on the way out, with all the key play experiences covered - jumping, climbing, spinning, crawling, balancing, sliding, socialising - and blended perfectly into the site to make this a most inviting play space. Play isn’t just restricted to the entrance play area – the trail that winds its way around the Hamilton Zoo includes several additional playful features like our embankment tube slides!
The main play area features the Kompan Universal Carousel, Tipi Carousel and the amazing new Sensory Dome! It is a joy to watch children testing their capabilities on the high nets of the Sensory Dome having been inspired by the agile animals in the zoo. Best of all are the ground-level sensory features that ensure there is meaningful fun for everyone in this wonderful playground!
