The newly installed playground at Hobsonville War Memorial Park in Auckland is a testament to imaginative design and community heritage, conceived in collaboration with Bespoke Landscape Architects.
This innovative space transforms one of our PlatinumPlay tower modules into an aviation-themed adventure, paying homage to Hobsonville's history as an RNZAF base. Standing proudly among the playground's features is a towering structure over 5 meters high, designed to resemble an airport control tower. This central piece, accompanied by a runway-themed scaling wall and 2.7m high tube slide, invites children aged 3 to 13 years and beyond to play while creating an awareness of the area's rich history.
Perfectly positioned on the corner of the park, adjacent to newly developed medium-density housing and a bustling shopping centre, the playground also includes swings and caters to high volumes of young adventurers. Bespoke Landscape Architects have skillfully crafted a space that not only entertains but educates, creating a seamless connection between past and present for the Hobsonville community and its visitors. This playground is more than just a play area; it's a tribute to innovation, history, and the joy of childhood exploration.
