The physical size of the Corocord Wave makes a dramatic Statement at Pukekura Park. The imposing curved steel frame is a feat of engineering – typical of Corocord - and was the first of this type of structure to be installed outside of Germany – New Plymouth District Council leading the way here! Other unique pieces at Pukekura Park are the two bespoke slide towers designed by Catherine Hamilton of Opus. The taller of the two has an 8m long tube slide replacing the old open slide which was removed in the upgrade, the smaller is more accessible for younger users and includes a double slide. We think the design sits perfectly in the native bush setting especially with the slated facades of the towers which are reminiscent of palisades on Maori Pa.
