In 2018 we created a new play space for the senior pupils at Parkview School in Christchurch, so when it was time for the school to upgrade the junior playground they got in touch with Playground People again.
We made effective use of the available open space, designing a large feature-piece play-structure that would allow plenty of play opportunities for large numbers of active children during their break times. The Parkview design has an octagonal tower that provides ample space for socializing and children can exit using the thrilling spiral tube slide. The structure covers a variety of play activities, including sliding, climbing, crawling, balancing, socializing, and imaginative play. It also features age-appropriate challenges for the upper body, such as the Horizontal Ladder, Gladiator Rings and the popular Ring Swing.
This play space also includes balance play to help build children's coordination and concentration as well three different dynamic carousels from the Danish Kompan range. The accessible Tipi with Top Brace is one of most popular accessible items; the Tipi is a more challenging version requiring a little more skill to use; and the new Twin Ring Sky Carousel provides new ways to spin – either hang on tight for an over-head ride or climb to the top for a unique elevated spinning experience.
