Welcome to Te Waituarua Reserve Playground in Takanini—a vibrant new playground that’s more than just a place to play. Nestled within the Waiata Shores development, this space is designed to connect families, friends, and neighbours in a setting rich with local heritage and natural beauty.
In collaboration with Clynt White of Wahi Wairua and the Te Ākitai Waiohua iwi, the playground is thoughtfully crafted around the story of Kaiwhare, the kaitiaki (guardian) of the Manukau Harbour, who presents as a whai (stingray).
